Path of Exile Item Upgrading

In Path of Exile, item upgrading is one of the most effective ways to upgrade your equipment without relying on big-ticket drops or trade. This article will teach you how to upgrade your items effectively.

Upgrading equipment grants an increase to the item's base stats. The amount of bonus varies based on the rarity and quality of the upgrade component.

Components

Upgrade components make your armour and weapons better. You can find them by destroying enemies, purchasing them from karma vendors or finding them in item-spheres. You can also salvage them from equipment that has the components, or by utilizing high-tier salvage kits such as Black Lion Salvage Kit and Ascended Salvage Tool. Upgrade components aren't destroyed when you remove them from an item.
