Path of Exile Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a common and crucial method to enhance the performance of many items in Path of Exile. They can also provide additional damage, AD or even affixes.

Rare-grade equipment is often superior to upgraded Common or Magic gear due to their high demands.

Armor

Armor upgrades can be applied to both weapon and armor items. They improve the stats of the item level upgrade that they are connected to. Upgrades to armor can be found in the world of games and are available from Blacksmiths on bonfires. They can also be salvaged by using a specialist or higher salvage kit to recover upgrades from the items.

The amount of damage that an armored item upgrader mod or weapon can absorb depends on the extent of its upgrades. The absorption of damage by a piece armor will increase as it is upgraded to the maximum upgrade level. However, it's important to keep in mind that this will increase its weight, causing it to weigh more than before.

There are several kinds of armor upgrades that are available in the game and each one has distinct effects. Certain upgrades grant armor an additional number of health points while others make it lighter and more powerful. The type of armor upgrade that an item can get will be identified by the name of the upgrade, as illustrated in the table below.

The first trinkets a player can unlock is the cloak, which gives an unimportant but beneficial boost to movement speed and evasion. After that, they can purchase amulets, rings and necklaces in the same manner to the way a player obtains weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment has one upgrade slot that accepts either a universal or a jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades are smaller and can be used on any device.
